摘要
Gyrotron Traveling wave tube (gyro-TWT) is a high-power, broadband millimeter amplifier. However, spurious oscillations have been a major obstacle of achieving high gain and high power in gyro-TWT. An interaction circuit with distributed loss and severs is studied for stabilizing the amplification. The absolute instability, Gyrotron Backward-wave oscillation (gyro-BWO) and reflective oscillation have been investigated. A W-band gyro-TWT operating in TE01 mode has been designed and simulated. The amplifier is driven by a 100kV, 10A, MIG electron beam, and is predicted to generate 250kW peak power at 94GHz with over 25% efficiency, 45dB gain and about 5% bandwidth.
