We present a case of patellar fracture in a teenager that followed a soft tissue realignment surgery for patellar instability. We propose that this fracture was due to disruption of the blood supply to the patella as a result of the procedure. To our knowledge this complication, which has been documented following Total Knee Arthroplasty, has not been documented in the English literature before. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
