摘要
In the eighteenth century, French women writers used translation of literary and scientific texts to become more visible in the Republic of Letters. Prefaces, footnotes and critical texts published by Ann Dacier, Emilie Du Chatelet, Marie-Jeanne Riccoboni and Mme Rhiroux D'Arconville provide rich and diversified evidence suggesting that women writers of that time not only played a significant role in this exchange but also they perceived translation as a possible writing strategy to help shape the cultures of the Enlightenment.
