A method for normalizing slow-control data

摘要
We describe a method for reducing a body of slow-control data virtually down to the level of the information contained in each count. The method is based on the introduction of a piecewise-linear measuring scale and makes it possible to obtain compact codes suitable for performing arithmetic and logical operations on the measured values.
