摘要：

Foreign direct investment is generally considered to be an instrument how to stimulate economic growth of any country. Just because of this purpose governments of the transition countries try to encourage the inflow of foreign direct investment by various measures. The paper is focused on the effect of foreign direct investment and trade on economic growth. The main objective is to find the relationship between foreign direct investment, trade and economic growth. Estimation of effects of foreign direct investment and trade on economic growth was performed for the Czech Republic in the period from Q1 2001-Q1 2013. The co -integration method and vector error correction model were applied on quarterly data. The results confirm the existence of long-term relation between the variables analysed. The results confirm a positive impact of foreign direct investment and export on economic growth.
