摘要
A new weevil, Burmorhinus georgei gen. et sp. nov. from the tribe Arthrostenini (Curculionidae: Erirhininae) is described from Cretaceous Burmese amber. The new genus is similar to the genus Thecorhinus Faust, 1887 but differs from the latter in having the body lacking wide scales, the tibiae being slightly widened at the apex, with large spurs, and weakly laminate tarsal claws. It is distinguished from the genus Arthrostenus Schoenherr, 1826 in the body lacking wide scales, the tibiae not serrate along the inner edge, but with large apical spurs, a small uncus with indistinct groups of setae and weakly laminate tarsal claws. This is first fossil record of the tribe Arthrostenini. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
