摘要
The role of salicylic acid (SA) in disease resistance of plants is reviewed with special emphasis on current concepts of the mechanism of action of SA and its involvement in the intercellular signaling system, which activates the expression of protective genes. The SA contribution to this system extends from interaction with external ligands to activation of a defense response. The possible role of catalase as an SA receptor is discussed.
