摘要：
Dysvascular problems - arterosclerosis and diabetes mellitus - are the predominant origin for lower limb amputation. Each level from distal to proximal - from ''border-line'' toe/partial foot amputation through hind foot, transtibial, through-knee to transfemoral procedures - has it's own merits and disadvantages despite recent advances which have an impact on the prosthetic use and the outcome of rehabilitation.
