摘要
The objective of this communication is to point out the presence of Amblyomma cajennense in the states of Aragua and Cojedes for the first time. The processed and identified sample was represented in fourteen specimens of ticks, six of which were obtained from five dogs in the peripheral areas of Maracay, and eight samples from two dogs and a cat on a farm located in the county of San Carlos in Cojedes State. The ticks were found primarily on the ears of different hosts. For the first time A. cajennense is mentioned as an ectoparasite in the domestic cat in Venezuela. Based on these results, there are now seven species of Amblyomma in Aragua state.
