Naval mine countermeasure warfare is a complicated, dangerous and time consuming operation. Simulation is one way to describe a possible strategy and evaluate a feasible solution. This paper describes the advantage of using object-oriented simulation to determine which strategy, sweeping or hunting, is most efficient, depending on the conditions, Building the mine countermeasure model (MCM), made use of the object-oriented modeling method and C++.. Every class of the MCM model used inheritance, polymorphism and binding methods to build the random number, statistics, sweeper, mine, area, strategies and simulation classes. The MCM model considers the number and type of minesweepers, countermeasure method, mine type, size and type of area, depth, and personnel training grade. Using three simple examples, the MCM model output and SPSS analysis show that if there is a time limitation, then mines should be cleared using the mine hunting strategy, while the mine sweeping strategy is more appropriate when there is no time limitation.
