High performance speed control of permanent magnet synchronous motor with eccentric load

摘要
This paper presents a study on the high performance speed control of permanent magnet synchronous motor for a computed tomography (CT). In a CT system, it has many units on the rotary gantry such as x-ray tube, detector, heat exchanger, and data acquisition system. Therefore to balance many components which have different weights is difficult; this is inescapable problem in the all CT systems. In this paper to promote speed performance against eccentric load, vector control algorithm with load torque observer has been presented. Through the experimental results, it is verified that the CT drive system with load torque observer has high performance speed regulation ability.
