摘要：

Deregulation and competition typify today's utility industry. Utilities accustomed to "business as usual" are either losing their lead or being taken over by more agile competitors. Recognizing the potential power of information, some visionary utilities have focused on information technology management. This paper describes why and how organizations should learn to make information itself a tool, manage it as a resource, and leverage best information management practices to improve business results.
