摘要
The development of comparative linguistics has always been pushed ahead by the teaching of English. Based on the basic principles of applied linguistics, this paper, initiated by the needs of English teaching and learning, illustrates the feasibility and significance of comparison between English language and mathematics language and explores the similarities between the learning methods of English and mathematics. It also demonstrates the compatibility of the English learning methods of and those of mathematics by the use of analogy, deduction, migration in the teaching and learning fields of both languages.
