Internet trading systems (so called e-commerce systems) have become a standard tool to support business activities of all types of companies doing business. Development of these systems evokes the need to create new management systems and to continually improve management approaches. Basic condition for the success of an e-commerce system is proper system architecture based on appropriate models using suitable parameters - key indicators and properly configured management system. E-commerce management system must be constructed in such a way to be able to measure quickly and effectively actual internal and external performance indicators and to process them into desired form for managers to have right information at right time. The aim of this paper is to introduce a concept of modern e-commerce architecture and its management system and to define key indicators and source data areas in e-commerce systems. Using key indicators definition a three-layer architecture of e-commerce management decision support system is proposed.
