摘要
In this paper, a turbo-like extrinsic information transfer (EXIT) algorithm is proposed for two-dimensional magnetic recording (TDMR) systems. Based on the proposed turbo-like EXIT algorithm, we not only analyze the decoding threshold of spatially coupled protograph (SC-P) low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes over TDMR channels under turbo detection, but also conceive a design methodology to construct capacity-approaching terminated SC-P codes. Compared with the original protograph codes, the terminated SC-P codes possess desirable performance gains in both low and high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regions.
