Delivering Internet-of-Things Services in MobilityFirst Future Internet Architecture

摘要
In the emerging paradigm of pervasive computing, applications change their behaviors in response to their environmental context, which is provided by the smart objects in the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT envisions building a convergent platform to share dynamic data from smart objects and middleware services that process the data. In this paper, we show that the MobilityFirst Future Internet Architecture is an ideal platform for realizing pervasive computing in an IoT framework. In particular, MobilityFirst's identity based routing, overloaded identity resolution, content caching and in-network compute plane are excellent building blocks for IoT service distribution. We then present a detailed example of a location context-aware service built as a dynamic content service, and discuss in-network distribution of this IoT service via MobilityFirst future Internet, whereas now only possible via overlay content distribution network (CDN).
