摘要
The sodium based alkali-metal-thermal-to-electric conversion (AMTEC) cell has no moving parts and is not limited to Carnot cycle efficiency. Its heat source and sink have to be near each other, minimizing thermal losses and maximizes electricity production. The solid oxide fuel cell has advantages over power generating gas turbines and steam turbines. The static advantages of the fuel cell can be preserved if the bottoming cycle is also static.
