摘要
The role of diesel engines is indispensable in the modern world. Hence, emissions that continue to be a formidable problem need to be addressed. Intense research is being carried out throughout the world to reduce the emissions of nitrogen oxide (NOx), smoke, etc. In this work, reduction in both NOx and smoke has been tried by fueling the engine with biodiesel (BD) water emulsion along with diethyl ether (DEE). Diethyl ether in the percentages of 5, 10, 15 and 20 was blended with 15% emulsified BD (85BD/15W). Performance and emission characteristics have been studied, and this study revealed that the combination of BD water emulsion and DEE would result in better performance and less emission than BD water emulsion. Thevetia peruviana, a promising BD, was used in this study.
