摘要：
Research and Development (R&D) expenditure efficiency refers to the impact of R&D expenditure on total factor productivity (TFP). In this paper, we have analyzed the impact of R&D expenditure on TFP with a nonlinear panel data model, and found there exists a nonlinear impact of R&D expenditure on TFP and there is an optimal level for R&D investment. When R&D expenditure is lower than this level, to quicken R&D investment would enhance TFP and R&D efficiency.
