Identification and Characterization of Gibberellin-Related Dwarf Mutants in Malus hupehensis

摘要
Five dwarf mutants, A1, A1D, B1, C2, and C3 selected from gamma-rays radiated 'Pingyitiancha' Malus hypehensis seeds were treated with exogenous gibbereltic acid (GA(3)) auxin (NAA) and brassinolide (BL). Endogenous GA(3) and GA(4) content in both the wild type and the mutants were measured in the rapid shoot growing period with an enzymelinked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The results showed that the mutants B1, A1, A1D, C2, and C3 exhibited reduced responses to exogenous GA(3) compared to that of wild type. Content of GA(3) was 2 to 6-fold more and GA(4) was 6 to 60-fold more in the leaves of the mutants than in leaves of the wild type 'Pingyitiancha'. This indicated that they were GA-response mutants.
