摘要
Even though the IT business runs smoothly in the present, and there is plenty to do for everyone involved, project management remains a huge challenge for this business sector. Despite the potential impact of TT projects on business competitiveness, their growing expenses, their "opportunity" cost and the time spent planning, their rate of success has not improved in well over a decade. We try to shed some light on the main causes of why this has happened, and also to offer some solutions. to the identified issues, solutions that are more and more favored by the IT business environment. To do so, we take into consideration the main ways in which a project can fail, and we highlight the problems that occur in the main stages of development of an IT project, problems that can lead to project failure, in any of the stated ways. We then present a relatively new idea for project planning and tracking that has seen rising popularity worldwide and that has the potential to overcome some of the identified problems of IT projects.
