摘要
Nodular dermatofibrosis is a hereditary, autosomal-dominant syndrome in German shepherd dogs. It is characterized by multiple dermal nodules in combination with renal cysts or neoplasia. The skin alterations are commonly the reason for presentation at the veterinarian. For a correct diagnosis, both a thorough dermatological work-up including dermatopathology and further renal diagnostics are pivotal. The owner (breeder) should be informed about the prognosis and follow-up of the individual patient as well as over the recommended exclusion of affected animals from breeding. In this case report, clinical presentation, diagnosis and follow-up of nodular dermatofibrosis are outlined.
