Two new Termitophilous Phoridae (Diptera) from Australia

Diplonevra termitophila sp. n. and D. termispinosa sp. n, are described from specimens attracted to a colony of Nasutitermes fumigatus in New South Wales. Eutermiphora abdominalis females were collected from the galleries of the same colony. Some of the putative adaptations of these flies are discussed. The records of termitophilous Phoridae from the Australasian Region are summarised.
