摘要
Based on the properties of incoming water and sediment, and characteristic fluvial processes of the Lower Yellow River, A mathematical model of sediment transport for the Lower Yellow River is established and verified, It involves the effects of various factors, such as flood propagation, erosion and deposition of different size sediment along a cross-section, change of size distributions of suspended and bed sediment and their effect on the sediment carrying capacity, etc. The adjustment of a cross-section provided by the model can reflect erosion and deposition laws of the Lower Yellow River with complex river bed conditions. The results calcalated by the model for the incoming water and sediment series from 1974 to 1990 through the reach from Tiexie to Lijin show that the total quantity of erosion and deposition and their distribution along the river are in good agreement with the field data.
