摘要
The electrical grid experiences high demand during peak energy times (Triads) and so financial penalty charges are applied to discourage large industrial consumers. Onsite power generation through employment of gas engines mitigated during 'Triad' periods to compliment system efficiency, cost and sustainability. This is achieved through pumping station modelling in MATLAB-Simulink for various scenarios. The tentative analysis of the results reveal the merits of onsite power generation in terms of CO2 emissions, system flexibility, decreased operating cost and increased system efficiency. Also reported is the impact of gas engine generators on system fault levels.
