摘要：

This study examines the effect of total quality management (TQM) on information system (IS) development. Despite the intuitive argument that TQM coupled with IS technology holds enormous promise for organizational effectiveness, the impact of TQM on IS development remains unexamined empirically. In this study, TQM was found to have significant impact on four areas of IS development: system goals, system design philosophy/ concepts, the assumptions about system users, and user involvement in system development.
