摘要
China needs to rebuild its culture before promoting its cultural industry. Culture itself can not become soft power spontaneously. If not widely accepted and understood, the culture of a nation, though abundant and diversified, is just a display of relics in museums rather than power. Similarly, if the core or spiritual value of a culture is not generally recognized, it is a short-lived fad rather than power, no matter how splendid it looks or sounds. Cultural soft power must be the culture that has both national characteristics and universal justice. The various embodiments of culture are just cultural phenomena or media, and they do not necessarily become cultural soft power. Only when the schools and universities become the cultural cradle and act as good models instead of shoddy followers after market or authority, can the culture be built and turn into power.
