摘要
The increased use of variable speed drive systems in small scale and large scale applications like automobile industries, medical equipment and household appliances led to the development of BLDC (Brushless DC) motor. BLDC drives have various advantages like higher efficiency, better speed-torque characteristics high power density and low maintenance over other conventional motors. Most of the BLDC motors adopt proportional plus integral (PI) controller and pulse width modulation (PWM) scheme for speed control. The performance of PI controller is affected due to windup or rollover phenomenon when working under saturation. Hence anti-windup schemes are necessary to mitigate performance degradation. This paper proposes an anti-windup controller which is superior to traditional anti-windup controllers. The controller is implemented using MATLAB/SIMULINK, and a comparison study shows an excellent performance regarding overshoot and settling time. The cosimulation of the entire system is implemented in MATLAB/SIMULINK using Xilinx block set. An Altium Nanoboard 3000 utilising field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) controls the drive system for the experimental validation of the proposed strategy.
