Approach Choice for Building a Service-oriented Government

It is indeed the requirement of the market economy calling for building a service-oriented government and our Government has made unremitting efforts and achieved some accomplishments. However, there are still some problems existing during the process of building a service-oriented government, because of such factors as the influence of official-oriented ideology in the traditional culture, the weak consciousness and awareness of civil rights and law and the lack of effective supervision and restraint mechanisms of power. This paper discusses what hinder the building of service-oriented government and proposes countermeasures to solve these problems (or the approach choice) on the basis of current practical situation.
