Distance and Vehicle Speed Estimation in OFDM Multipath Channels

摘要
A method for joint estimation of the speed of a vehicle and its distance to a road side unit (RSU) for narrowband orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) communication systems is presented. Spatial filtering and a Maximum Likelihood (ML) algorithm are developed for distance estimation. The vehicle speed is calculated using a kinematics model based on the estimated distance. Numerical simulations show a highly accurate distance and vehicle speed estimation.
