An Adjustable FIR Filter to Denoise the Noisy Voice Signal in Air Traffic Communication

摘要
This paper describes a new window function which is adjustable as well as enriched with linear phase response. Using a simple regulator, the new window can be altered according to need. The proposed window function is a combination of a sine and cosine function. The window function has been compared with Kaiser, Gaussian, Tukey and a window proposed by Rakshit et el. and their filters. The simulation results show that the output of the designed FIR low-pass filters reflects higher SNR value for the presented filter which is 3.4227. Moreover, the presented window is showing 2.78 dB higher sidelobe roll-off ratio than the Kaiser window, 2.18 dB more than the Tukey window and 1.84 dB greater than the Gaussian window-based FIR filter.
