摘要
The development of the Spanish modern art scene in the 1980s and the impact of American pop culture on social processes spurred film director Pedro Almodovar to break all political, social and cultural ties with the fascist past. The paper examines the moment when such social scene, in which Almodovar played one of the leading roles, was developed. In order to demonstrate his preference for this transition, Almodovar very often made use of pop culture elements that he engaged directly in his films, making music an important element of film narration. The level of success that he achieved will be revealed in the paper that tackles music elements in several films by Almodovar, such as Labyrinth of Passion (Laberinto de pasiones, 1982), What Have I Done to Deserve This? (?Que he hecho yo para merecer esto?, 1984), Law of Desire (La ley del deseo, 1987), The Flower of My Secret (La flor de mi secret, 1995), All About My Mother (Todo sobre mi madre, 1999), Talk to Her (Noble con ella, 2002), Bad Education (La mato education, 2004), Coming Home (Volver, 2006) and The Skin I Live In (La piel que habito, 2011).
