摘要
Brachytherapy of Prostate is a cancer therapy done by permanent planting radioactive of Pd-103 at prostate cancer. Radiation from Pd-103 has high energy so that the risk of radiation dose acceptance at organs around Prostate is very large. One of the risks is impotence due to radiation contact cell of Testes which can prevent sperm production. Therefore, research using MCNPX simulation is important to know effect of cell damage at organ around Prostate in each radioactive activity of Pd-103 done before Brachytherapy treatment is given. MCNPX program is software which can be used to simulate a particle transport by making a phantom geometry. This research used ORNL MIRD phantom and radiation from Pd-103 seeds of 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 seeds with activity variations of 1.1 mCi, 1.3 mCi, 1.5 mCi and 1.7 mCi in each seed to simulate. The result from simulation had been got that the higher activity of radiation and the number of Pd-103 seeds were used, the higher damage effect of cancer cell was due to radiation, yet damage effect of other organs like Testes and Urinary bladder were lower than damage effect of cancer cell in Prostate. Using of 1.1 mCi with maximum of 15 seeds, 1.3 mCi with maximum of 13 seeds, 1.5 mCi with maximum of 12 seeds and 1.7 mCi with maximum of 10 seeds in Brachytherapy is recommended for the first stage of a Prostate cancer disease due to optimal dose for cancer is able to be achieved, but the treatment needs doing several times until gets the optimal dose.
