The Language Transfer in College English Teaching

Language transfer is a process of learning, and influenced and constricted by many complicated factors, which is inevitable for the college students to learn a second language. In this paper, from the meaning and form of language transfer, the author puts forward the lexical transfer and syntactic transfer. By comparing Chinese with English, the author intends to point out how to use the language transfer in college English teaching, and that the teachers should use the positive factors and positive transfer of the native language flexibly in order to eliminate the learning difficulties caused by the differences between the native language and target language and to improve the English teaching.
