RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT AS A SUPPOSITION OF THE FOURTH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION

With the onset of digitization, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, is coming new demands on the course and structure of business processes, qualitative change of methods and approaches in management, requiring enormous change and widening of education, abilities and skills of the human labor force, will bring an annual shift in the economy. The Fourth Industrial Revolution means the transition from the simple digitization phase to innovations. Information and communication technologies are the center of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and are a factor of economic and social change. Changes that bring technology trends into Industry 4.0 can significantly affect the Slovak economy. R & D plays an important role in innovative and technological progress. The contribution is focused on research and development. We will evaluate the development of R & D expenditure in the Slovak Republic for the period 2010-2017.
