Unilateral fetal hydrothorax treatment - A case report

Authors present a case of the fetal unilateral hydrothorax treated prenatally by the use of pleuro-amniotic shunting. A pregnant woman in the 3111 week of gestational age was referred to our tertiary referential center due to the fetal right hydrothorax. Under the echo guidance the single pleural cavity puncture with fluid evacuation was found ineffective in a long-term observation. Thus, the decision was made up for implantation of the "Double-J" catheter to the pleural cavity setting a constant drainage. A viable baby was delivered vaginally, spontaneously in the 38(th) week of pregnancy. The neonatal course was promising.
