摘要
Owning to the steady economic growth and competition induced from deregulation measures such as the open-sky policy, demand on air traffic keeps increasing in Hong Kong. This has resulted in an increase in ground access to the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), which is a subject of growing concern by the Airport Authority Hong Kong and various public transport operators. In view of this, interview surveys, targeted at departure air passengers originated from Hong Kong, have been conducted to understand the ground access mode choices to the HKIA. In this paper, the collected data are analyzed using a structural equation model. The statistical significance and effects of various personal and trip characteristics on airport ground access mode choices are tested. Latent variables regarding passengers' expectation and perceived service quality on their selected modes are considered in the analysis of this paper. These provide information to various transport operators on how to improve their services.
