摘要
A high-pressure study of a synthetic smectite (Na-fluorohectorite) immersed in liquid media was performed using in situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction in a diamond anvil cell. A reversible phase transition because of the insertion of an additional water layer was observed for this material at 1.7 GPa. No similar transition was found when methanol was used as a pressure medium (see picture). © 2013 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
