A slightly modified indirect field oriented controller for voltage-fed induction motors with a global asymptotic stability proof

摘要
This paper is motivated by the fact that a formal global asymptotic stability proof has not been presented for standard indirect field oriented control of voltage-fed induction motors. Results in this note are intended to explain, under mild assumptions, why this successful control technique works well in practice. We present a new controller for velocity regulation in voltage-fed induction motors. We formally prove that this controller is globally asymptotically stable. This controller only differs from standard indirect field oriented control of voltage-fed induction motors by a simple nonlinear term. Hence, our proposal is the controller in the literature which possesses the most similarities with standard indirect field oriented control for voltage-fed induction motors and, simultaneously, it is provided with a formal global asymptotic stability proof. In the second part of the proposal, we introduce two additional simple adaptive terms to relax the resulting stability conditions with the aim to use them as a tuning procedure in practical applications.
