Solidification behavior of undercooled Ni-Pb hypermonotectic alloy

摘要
Solidification behavior of undercooled Ni-Pb hypermonotectic alloy over a large range of undercooling was investigated. The experiment was performed by the method of molten glass fluxing and recycle superheating with a high-frequency induction furnace. It was found that the Pb solubility reaches 5.83 at.% in the sample undercooled by 418K. It also was found that the structure after lower undercooling by amounts up to 182K was composed of coarse α-Ni dendrites.
