Synthesis of novel g-C3N4/Bi2WO6 composite with high visible light photocatalytic activity

摘要
The synthesis of g-C3N4/Bi2WO6 composite materials with varying the g-C3N4 content was reported in this investigation. The composite samples were characterized by various techniques. The photocatalytic activity of the g-C3N4/Bi2WO6 products has been investigated by the degradation of methyl orange dye under visible light irradiation. The UV-vis absorption spectra show that the absorption edge of the composite sample shifts to longer wavelengths with increasing the doping amount of g-C3N4. It is revealed that the g-C3N4/Bi2W06 composite photocatalysts exhibit remarkably enhanced photocatalytic performance for the degradation of methyl orange. The high visible light photocatalytic activity of g-C3N4/Bi2WO6 can be attributed to the efficient transfer and separation of charge carriers in the interface between g-C3N4 and Bi2WO6 particles.
