Dressed fermion vs dressed boson: Semiconductor cavity QED in high-Q regimes

A quantum-well Wannier exciton strongly coupled with a single-mode microcavity field forms a new normal mode: the microcavity exciton polariton. Dressed-boson, dressed-fermion, and dressed-quon concepts are introduced and compared with the linear and nonlinear spectra of microcavity exciton polaritons. We will present the first experimental evidence for the boser phase transition and the non-bosonic (nonlinear) spectrum of a microcavity exciton polariton.
