Comparison of the physical optics and small slope theories for polarimetric thermal emission from the sea surface

摘要
A comparison of the physical optics and small slope theories of emission from the sea surface is described. It is shown that the two theories produce identical results for "long wave" contributions to sea emission azimuthal variations up to third order in long wave surface slope when shadowing effects are neglected.
