摘要
Fire safety for public transport interchanges (PTIs) will be discussed in this paper. Related standards and codes are reviewed. It is observed that performance-based design is necessary for providing fire safety. PTIs in Hong Kong are selected as example to discuss the possibility of applying performance-based design. Fire safety application will be identified with reference to its architectural design characteristics. The possible fire risk in PTIs is discussed with relevant fire safety strategies outlined.
