摘要
To demonstrate the impact phenomenon in a college environment, a cost-effective and portable pendulum has been designed and assembled through a special mass-spring combination. Within a budget of $1,000, an impact velocity of 15 m/s can be achieved to perform in-lab experiments. A quantitative dynamic analysis of the pendulum has been performed based on the rigid body dynamics, which shows the relationship between design parameters and the impact velocity.
