摘要
Five native isolates of Bacillus thuringiensis (B.t) were morphologically and biologically characterized. Gram staining, capsule staining, endospore staining and transmission electron microscopy confirmed the B.t. by morphologically. Poly-acrylamide-gel-electrophoresis showed that all the native isolates were producing 130-140 kDa proteins. Chemical characterization revealed that Isolates NSC-1, NSC-3 and COR-4 were fermented maltose while NSC-9 and GUR-5 showed delayed +ve reaction. All selected cultures were catalase +ve, ammonification -ve, citrate utilization +ve, casein hydrolysis +ve, gelatin hydrolysis -ve, indole production -ve and VP test -ve. In the bioassays, five native strains NSC-1, NSC-3, NSC-9, COR-4 and GUR-5 were identified and proved as a novel isolate for controlling Castor hairy caterpillar (Pericalia ricini, Arctidae; Lepidoptera).
