Research on Current College Students' Appreciation of Sports Aesthetics and Its Influencing Factors

An investigation on the aesthetic orientation and influencing factors of current college students' sports culture has been conducted by adopting the approaches of interview, questionnaire, network and field research. It shows that: 1) the current college students' aesthetic taste of sports culture mainly involves the beauty of body, the beauty of movement and the beauty of spirit. 2) Current college students generally appreciate the beauty of movement from six aspects: jumping, vacated rotation, speed, flexibility, rhythm, fluency, wit and courage; and the general appreciation of the beauty of spirits includes indomitable perseverance, the tolerance of pain, persistence, sedation, wonderful collaboration, competition friendship, vitality; and the general appreciation of the beauty of body includes shape, strong body and muscles. 3) Gender, grade, sports participation and the professional quality of PE teacher are all the important factors that could influence the college students' aesthetic ability except for the major. 4) Sports participation should be the basis of improving the aesthetic ability of sports, as well as the P.E. teachers' sports skills, the teaching arts and the emotional exchanges between teachers and students are very crucial.
