A Ga-67 scan was performed in a 31-year-old man with sarcoidosis to evaluate nonspecified lymphoma. Wholebody images showed the "panda sign" or increased parotid and salivary gland uptake seen in patients with sarcoid. There were no signs of lymphoma. An area of increased Ga-67 uptake was noted inciden tally in the left leg. Further review of the patient's medical history revealed biopsy-proved granulomatous myositis of the left gastrocnemius muscle and a previous magnetic resonance image (MRI) with findings characteristic of myositis, which correlate with the region of interest seen on the Ga-67 scan.
