摘要
The oxidation behavior of Fe-15Cr-4Al alloy was investigated with various analytical techniques. The oxidation of the Fe-15Cr-4Al alloy was achieved by heating samples to 1300 degrees C in a conventional tube furnace for various time periods. The microstructure of the samples was observed with transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and their chemical composition was determined with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). In addition, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was used to determine the electronic states of Cr, Al, and O after the samples were oxidized. TEM, EDS, and XPS analysis confirmed that three oxides were present in the oxide layers. The dominant phase of the oxide layer was Al2O3, with a small amount of Cr2O3. After prolonged periods of oxidation, it was found that Fe2O3 and FeCr2O4 had formed in the oxide layer in addition to Al2O3 and Cr2O3.
