摘要
Nutrition and Wound Healing Jeremy Z. Williams and Adrian Barbul Wound healing and its corresponding relationship to nutrition has been acknowledged for centuries. Only more recently have the specific factors underpinning this symbiosis been identified. Nutrition covers a spectrum from general host nutrition to specific supplements and micronutrients. All aspects of nutrition within this spectrum contribute to the wound healing process. Likewise, deficits or absence of certain components of nutrition can be detrimental to healing. This article explores the role of nutrition in wound healing and summarizes much of the current literature regarding nutritional supplementation and pharmacologic modulation of the wound healing process.
